With his powerful voice and dazzling guitar skills
he performs an eclectic mix of folk, blues and jazz in both traditional
and contemporary styles, interspersed with virtuoso instrumentals.
Underpinning Tony's success is the advice and
care of his loving wife Barbara.
Currently Tony has been joined by Lorraine Wooldridge.
About 1985 Lorraine learned to play a guitar and started singing and playing at a local folk club and carried on doing this for some years whilst family grew up. Visiting different folk clubs, I met Tony Portlock who can only be admired for his brilliance. So it was both a pleasure and priviledge when he asked me to sing with him at Alcester and I am really excited to be able doing this with him.
In the past few years I have been playing and singing with Barry Littleford playing both traditional and contemporary folk music. We have played at a few festivals in the last two years or so and so festival work won't be completely new to me however it will prove to be something else to be able to sing with Tony.
